American Stroke Month

A stroke occurs when arteries that supply blood to the brain are blocked or damaged. When a blood clot or bleeding occurs as a result, vital areas of the brain are damaged. And, the longer the bleeding occurs, the more damage to the brain. So, it’s important to recognize the symptoms of a stroke: sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg (can affect one side of the body); sudden confusion or trouble understanding and speaking; sudden vision problems; sudden trouble walking, dizziness and loss of balance; and sudden severe headaches.
